Hi, my name is Julie, and as an over-50 woman myself, I understand the challenges this phase of life brings!

Entering midlife(especially when I hit 50!) , I have discovered that my body works a little differently than it did in my 20s and 30s. That has been a little surprising, as I have stayed pretty consistent with my workouts, and maintained an active lifestyle. I have also maintained a healthy diet overall, although that will always be a work in progress! But, the things I have always done to manage my weight are just not working.

So, I have learned that I have to adapt and change how I do things to stay healthy.  I am a natural researcher, so I set out to gather information and seek answers that would help me in my journey. I want to make a difference in other people’s lives, as well, so I decided to share what I am learning. That is how Cherry Fox Fitness came to be.

A little background on me: I am an experienced fitness professional. I have specialized in training women in group and one-on-one settings since 2004.  Over the years, I have helped numerous clients achieve their fitness and health goals in many ways. Whether through in-person, one-on-one personal training, or in-person group training, I love helping women feel better about themselves.  I have also taught group fitness classes for many years. From step, to sculpting, to multiple forms of cardio kickboxing(which is my favorite, by the way!)-I love them all! The energy and the interaction that comes from being in a group can’t be beat.

I am a past and current fitness facility owner, and have run numerous bootcamps over the years. My specialization has been in weight loss and fitness improvement for women. Over the years, I have earned certifications in personal training, and multiple group fitness formats. I am on a continuing journey of learning. The health and wellness field has many fundamental truths and methods, but it is also ever-changing. I try and keep up with what is going on in the fitness and wellness industry. Through my research, I hope to discover relevant information and sound principles that I can put into practice.

In addition to fitness, exercise, and all things health and wellness, I enjoy reading, music, crafting, and being outside. I most enjoy doing things with my family.

As a woman in my fifties, I understand that most women over 40 and over 50 do not fully understand why their bodies function differently than they did in their youth. They also do not know what to do to stay on that path of staying active and strong, maintaining a healthy weight and staying in overall good health.  My desire is to help other women accomplish all of this, and know that they are not alone! As a lifelong learner, I am constantly taking in new information, so I share topics that are relevant. I believe I have a balanced and realistic view of what it means to be fit and beautiful in midlife.

My goal is to cover current trends, share down-to-earth tips and tricks, and review products that might be helpful and useful to my audience. I will also be providing wellness, beauty and fitness advice catered for the over-40 woman, and the over-50 woman. Really, Cherry Fox Fitness is for women of any age who want to stay youthful and active. Most importantly, I hope I can help you navigate this phase of your life. It would be my honor to be a part of helping you create an enjoyable journey on your path towards valuing yourself, understanding your worth, and enjoying your life more than ever before!

I believe that the path to health is achievable for anyone with the desire to learn and make changes to their lives.  I feel that educating, motivating, and encouraging women in their fitness journeys is one of my callings in life.
